Alsager school - expansion

The Local Authority has a statutory duty to provide sufficient school places for children resident in its area. An analysis of the latest pupil forecasts has identified the need to provide additional secondary school places in Alsager in response to housing developments.

The data produced indicates the need for an additional 150 school places (years 7-11) which would provide 30 more year 7 class places from September 2019.

Following discussions with the local authority, the governing body considered the need for extra school places in the area and resolved to publish an expansion proposal for Alsager School.

Four week consultation period started. A drop in session was held at the school on the Tuesday 11 July 2017. At this meeting representatives from the school and the local authority were available to answer questions about the proposal and seek views.
